A secondary motion, such as an amendment, is typically used to change the contents of a main motion that is on the floor.
There are 2 types of secondary motion:
- Amendment - A motion to modify the text of a resolution on the floor.
- Main Motion as Amended - Selecting this type of motion will create a new vote, pre-populated with the text “Motion as amended”. This option is only available if there is an amendment to the main resolution, and a secondary motion is added to the main vote.
To Add a Secondary Motion, click Add Secondary Motion below the resolution text, as shown below.
Note: Please ensure that the Proceeding Label is set to Motion, this can be done by Editing the Vote and changing the Proceeding Label drop down. The option to Add a Secondary Motion will not appear otherwise.
