There are some additional items that can be applied to your report template to help report writers fill out important information. For example, adding a Calendar for choosing the Date. The following steps outline some of the configurations that can be made to the report template by an eSCRIBE Administrator:

A) Adding guiding text that disappears as you start typing

1. Click on the field where you would like to add the text
2. Click on the "Developer" tab
3. Select "Design Mode"

4. Type the guiding text (i.e. “type the report title here”).

5. At this point the text can be highlighted, bolded etc.
6. When you are satisfied with the format of the text click “Design Mode” again to save the formatting. You should be left with something like this:

B) Adding a Calendar drop-down to the report (please note that the date chosen does not populate anywhere except for within the report itself).

 1. Click where you would like to insert the calendar

 2. In the “Developer” tab, select the “Date Picker” content   control  type (calendar icon)

3. Click “Properties” and select “Content control cannot be deleted

4. Date format can be changed under the same properties tab.   Select a format and click "OK"

C) Adding a drop-down list to the report

1. In the “Developer” tab, “Controls” section, click the “Drop-Down List Content Control

2. Click “Properties” and click “Content control cannot be deleted

 3. Under “Drop-down list properties” click “add” You add each item you want to appear in the drop-down list individually

Please Note: Microsoft removed the ability to have a drop down that looks up the values from another system as of Office 2016/Office 365. Unfortunately this makes it not possible for us to reference the eSCRIBE Department, Meeting Type, or any other eSCRIBE drop down from within the Word report template.
