To tag the report title, you will use Microsoft Words Quick Part functionality. Following the steps provided will ensure that the title the report writer types into the report, eventually becomes the agenda title.

To Insert the Title quick part, you will first need to open your report template from eSCRIBE :

Select the template you want to work with, and click the blue report link to open the template for editing.

Your report will open in Word. Click on the area of the report that you would like to become the title:

Once your cursor is in the area that you would like to tag, click on the Insert tab on the ribbon and select the Quick Parts drop-down menu.

Highlight Document Property from the sub-menu and select the Title quick part:

You should now see a title tag in your Word document that looks something like this:

Inserting the Report Number

To insert the Report Number, use the same steps above, selecting "Report Number" but we also suggest Locking the field using the steps below to prevent editing or deleting of the report number in the report template.

Locking Fields

Please Note: The following steps are optional and allow you to prevent users from accidentally deleting properties by “locking” them or preventing them from being edited. This requires the Developer Tab to be enabled in Microsoft Word. Please see the Help Article Adding the Developer tab to MS Word

On the Developer tab, select Properties

Select Content control cannot be deleted to prevent a report writer from deleting the field, or Contents cannot be edited to prevent a report writer from changing the data in a field (for example Report Numbering, to ensure the automatic report number is not changed in the report) then click OK
