Submission deadlines for Reports in eSCRIBE can be handled in various ways within Report Manager Settings

Note: Submission deadlines are calculated and assigned based on the meeting type and specific meeting site configurations.

Once a submission deadline has passed (Late Items), there are 3 options:

  1. Ignore the deadline, allow the user to submit the document for approval as before.
  2. Do not allow the user to submit the document - they must choose a different meeting.
  3. Force the user to run a “Late Exception Workflow” in order to approve the document for late submission (a workflow that interjects in the regular workflow to get “exception approval”, after which the regular workflow resumes).

Once a workflow has started, and the deadline has passed (Mid Workflow Late Items), there are 3 options:

  1. Ignore the deadline, allow the workflow to continue.
  2. Cancel the workflow, informing the report author and sponsor(s).
  3. Inform the Meeting Type Administrator that a Mid-Workflow must be started.

To avoid documents “slipping through” the process by not getting submission deadlines assigned, you can also choose to make the meeting date a mandatory field before submitting a document for approval.
