Public Comments Settings can be accessed through the eSCRIBE Portal Menu Bar, under Other and Public Comments.
These settings apply to all Public Comments in eSCRIBE, however Public Comments does also need to be enabled for each Meeting Type.
| Field | Explanation |
| Allow Public Comment? | Enable this setting to turn on the possibility of receiving public comments in your eSCRIBE Site. Public Comments also must be enabled for each meeting type that you intend to receive public comments for. |
| Automatic Response Email Template | This section allows Administrators to customize the automatic email that is sent to members of the public when a public comment is submitted. |
| Organization Name | Optional field that allows the name of the Organization to be captured which is displayed once an email address is verified. |
| Admin Alert | Send the Meeting Type Administrator(s) an email when a public comment is submitted. |
| Approval | If Administrators would like to review each comment and approve/reject, enable this setting. Otherwise, all public comments posted will be automatically approved and visible. |
| Character Limit | Enter how many characters are accepted when the public comment is submitted (0-5000 characters). |
| Item Comment Limit | A setting to limit the number of comments that can be submitted on each item by a particular address, per item. Each value must be a positive number to be valid. For unlimited entries, leave value blank. |
