Before a user can log into eSCRIBE, or be added to an attendee group, workflow, to an agenda item as a sponsor, or receive a notification, etc. – they will need to have a user account created in eSCRIBE.
Portal Administrators and standard eSCRIBE Administrators are able to create these user accounts from within the eSCRIBE Portal.
There are 2 types of users in eSCRIBE, depending on your portal’s configuration:
1. Form Users
Form users are users who have their username and password created and stored directly in eSCRIBE. Administrators can create new Form users and assign permissions on-the-fly within eSCRIBE.
Form users are manually created in eSCRIBE. User information, such as username, password, and access details are held in a separate database, and are managed through eSCRIBE’s Form Users administration page.
2. ADFS/ Azure AD Users
For eSCRIBE Portals that are integrated with an organization’s Active Directory, using Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS)/ Azure AD, usernames and passwords are stored directly in the organization’s Active Directory. Therefore, new user accounts must first be added to the organization’s Active Directory by IT.
Once added to the organization’s Active Directory, a user account can be created and assigned permissions in eSCRIBE.
Managing “Form” Users
To access the administration pages, select “Form Users” from the “Attendee Mgmt” section of the eSCRIBE menu bar. This will display a list of existing Form users, as well as options to edit and create new user accounts.
Managing ADFS / Azure AD Users
For ADFS or Azure AD users, they have their accounts managed in their organization’s internal ADFS, or Azure AD setup. However, the user account must still be created and assigned permissions in eSCRIBE.
