eSCRIBE Administrators are powerful users who can manage the entire eSCRIBE Portal. Sometimes, this is too much access, and users wish to be able to perform only subsets of the administrator role.

A number of roles for meeting and report administration can be configured within eSCRIBE to tailor functionality and access to information across the organization as outlined in the table below.

RoleDescription
Portal AdministratorPortal administrators have access to all meeting sites on the eSCRIBE Portal, even if they are not listed as an administrator in a meeting site.

Note: Portal Administrators should also be set as Administrator.

Administrator

Administrators have global access to manage the eSCRIBE Portal environment and all modules, meeting types, and attendee groups.

However these users can only access meetings that they are listed in the attendee group as an administrator (they cannot see everything in eSCRIBE).

Meeting Administrator

Meeting Administrators are able to administer and conduct meetings for any meeting sites where they have been listed as an administrator within the meeting’s Attendee Group.

As add-on permissions to this role, a meeting administrator can be allowed to view draft & approved reports for certain meeting types, as well as to create meeting sites of certain types.

Please see below for information on how to configure these options within a meeting type, and attendee group.

Meeting Type AdministratorMeeting Type Administrators are able to create new meeting types, and edit meeting types where they have been listed as a Meeting Type Administrator in the meeting profile.
Attendee Group AdministratorAttendee Group Administrators have the ability to create new attendee groups, and edit attendee groups where they have been assigned as an Attendee Group Administrator in the attendee group settings.
Approval Group AdministratorApproval Group Administrators have the ability to manage approval groups as well the ability to add and edit all workflow groups.

Note: It is possible to combine individual administrator roles.

Example 1:     Meeting Administrator + Approved Report Viewer
Can administer specific meetings and view approved reports for specific meetings. User can also add approved reports to their meetings.

Example 2:     Meeting Type Administrator + Attendee Group Administrator + Meeting Administrator + Report Manager Approved Report Viewer
Can create and edit specific meeting types and attendee groups, administer and conduct specific meetings, and view approved reports for specific meeting types.
