Test Browser Version & Speed Test Tools

Sometimes in order to properly troubleshoot issues user are experiencing on their eScribe site, a number of variables need to be considered:

  • browser type and version
  • browser settings
  • internet connection
  • network settings

In order to help identify possible causes for issues please see the reference links below:

  1. Identify operating system, browser, and browser plug-ins.
  2. Identify Upload Speed to eScribe Azure datacenter
    • Test the upload speed of large files here: http://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/UploadLargeFile
    • select the appropriate data centers for your region
      • Canadian Customers: select Canada East (Quebec City)
      • US Customers: select East US (Virginia) & East US2 (Virginia)
      • AUS/NZ Customers: select Australia Southeast (Victoria)
      • Asian Customers: select Japan East (Saitama Prefecture)
  3. Identify network latency from your computer to the eScribe Azure datacenter
    • Please visit http://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/Latency 
    • select the appropriate data centers for your region
      • Canadian Customers: select Canada East (Quebec City)
      • US Customers: select East US (Virginia) & East US2 (Virginia)
      • AUS/NZ Customers: select Australia Southeast (Victoria)
      • Asian Customers: select Japan East (Saitama Prefecture)
  4. Capture loading times of pages/items within eScribe
    • Open Google Chrome 
    • press CTRL + SHIFT + I
      • this will load a set of performance monitoring tools
    • Open eSCRIBE site
    • take note of the 'Load' value at the bottom tool bar
    • click around the eSCRIBE site, taking note of the 'Load' value with each action
